Where Worlds Dissolve

In the vast, golden expanse of the Eriguet Dunes, the boundary between our world and the galaxy far, far away finally dissolves.

Located just beyond the "Camel's Neck" of Ong Jemel, this sea of shifting sand is where the rugged geography of Tunisia meets the surreal horizon of Tatooine.

🎬 The Theatre of the Podrace

In the blistering heat of July and August 1997, the desert was transformed into the epicenter of the Boonta Eve Classic.

  • The Grand Arena: The vast basins between the dunes served as the staging ground for the podrace start and finish lines
  • The Dune Sea: The surrounding crests filmed the racers skipping across sand
  • The Sith's Landing: Flat stretches hosted the landing of the Sith Infiltrator
  • The Sandstorm's Breath: A massive sandstorm famously tore through, nearly halting the shoot

🏙️ Where the City Meets the Sky

Nestled in a depression among the sand hills, the Mos Espa spaceport city was built from the ground up, featuring over 20 buildings, moisture vaporators, and the iconic rounded domes.

This construction wasn't just a facade; it was a full-scale immersion into the architecture of the stars.

⏳ A Landscape in Motion

The magic of the Eriguet Dunes lies in their constant change. Unlike static stone, these dunes are alive, moving several centimeters every year.

A Living Relic

The Mos Espa set is now a "nomad" in its own right, as massive "barchan" dunes slowly migrate, at times threatening to bury the very buildings they once framed.

The Authentic Horizon

To stand on a crest at Eriguet is to see through young Anakin's eyes—a place where heat haze creates mirages of ships and cities beyond the next ridge.
